“China is a sleeping giant, when she wakes she will shake the world.”

Napoleon Bonaparte

The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China was built by different Chinese dynasties over many years to keep out invaders. It's really long, stretching across northern China. Although some people think you can see it from space, that's not true without special help. The wall is made of stone, brick, and other materials. It has watchtowers and soldiers' barracks along its length.

Confucianism

Confucianism is an ancient Chinese philosophy created by a guy named Confucius. It's about being a good person and treating others with respect. It's also about following traditions and being kind to your family. Confucianism had a big impact on Chinese society, education, and government.

Invention of Paper

The Chinese made paper around 100 BCE using things like mulberry bark and rags. This was a big deal because before paper, people wrote on things like animal skins or bamboo. Paper made it much easier to write, print, and share information. It helped spread knowledge and ideas.

Invention of Gunpowder

Chinese alchemists invented gunpowder around the 9th century. They were looking for a potion to make people live forever, but instead, they made gunpowder. It was first used for fireworks, but later people used it in weapons like cannons and guns. It changed how wars were fought.
